Creative Dance- 3 to 4 years old
Class-work focuses on improving gross motor skills, rhythm and coordination. These elements are taught and developed through creative movement, pantomime, music, games, and simple tumbling. Children will be introduced to basic ballet concepts that will prepare them for pre-ballet. In a fun, educational environment students will learn socialization, discipline and structure.
Pre-Ballet- 5 years old
This class is a continuation of creative dance. Students begin to learn basic fundamentals of ballet. This class includes barre-work, center floor, basic tumbling and many fun activities to further build coordination, rhythm, and timing.
Ballet – 1st grade through Advanced
A very technical form of dance with its own French vocabulary based. It has been globally influential and has defined the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. Pointe work is introduced in Ballet 6/7 for students taking two ballet classes per week with teacher approval.
Tap – 1st grade through Advanced
(One ballet class a week is required to take tap)
In this class students learn to use their tap shoes to make percussive sounds. We teach ryhthm and broadway tap.
Jazz – 2nd grade through Advanced
(One ballet class a week is required to take jazz)
Jazz technique is taught and students learn various styles of jazz while incorporating current music.
Modern – 5th grade through Advanced
(One ballet class a week is required to take modern)
This class uses elements of contact-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation.
